The cotton fabric is an art glorifying Srikalahasti Kalamkari. It is an art of hand printing with a specially designed kalam, meaning pen, to draw free hand using natural plant dyes. The prints often depict nature in traditional form. The bralette is a rouge coloured Handwoven kala cotton that is plant dyed in a burly weave from the state of Gujarat, where the Kala cotton grows in abundance as a native variety. It gets its name due to a dusky appearance compared to white, commonly available cotton.
