The Chaitri Handmade Dress is one of our signature pieces in the collection. It is designed to be the most relaxed, yet the most unique dress that you can wear. It has an one off-shoulder knotted design and a cross-cylindrical structure, futuristic in approach.
It is made using handwoven cotton-linen fabric in Machilipatnam with a natural sheen and strength, due to the linen component. The entire dress is bejeweled with butis of traditional Ahir hand embroidery. A form of hand embroidery from Gujarat, practiced, preached and forwarded only to the women in the family, it has intricacies like no other embroidery. Extremely fine needles used for the embroidery and the way the needle travels on the fabric ensures a neat back pattern. There are butis of elephant and camel on the dress. The threads used for Ahir embroidery were hand-dyed with plant colours by our founders.
