The Sakhi Handmade Set is a one of our signature pieces in the collection. It is a butterfly inspired skirt and top in the most beautiful shades of purple taupe and carmine. The drooping sleeves, curved bralette and hips hugging skirt give an oozing appeal to this summer set.
The bralette has small ribbed front with delicate pleats and the skirt like a vertical butterfly wing and challas shaped like the butterfly's feelers is a design like never seen before. Handwoven cotton is natural plant dyes with the Pochampally Ikat art form from Telangana in its most traditional form with 52 different Ikat motifs. Ikat as an art form is dyeing threads before weaving and then generating a pattern in the weave. The skill lies in dyeing threads with so much perfection that even before the weave, they showcase the design. However, this particular design with motifs changing every few millimeters is a rare feat that can only be achieved with unparalleled skills. Beautifully complimented with Bagh hand block print, a unique hand block art from Madhya Pradesh.
